1020 Carbon RAW Wedge
COMMISSIONS ARE OPEN. Every wedge is built to order. Once yours is commissioned it enters the current batch on the bench.
Build time: 3–4 weeks from commission, then it ships.
Availability: Not a limited run. Commission one whenever you need it.
Finish: RAW bare steel. No plating, no clear coat. It will rust, and it is meant to.
Origin: Designed in Colorado. Drop-forged overseas to our spec. Hand-stamped and finish-ground in Colorado.
Made to order: Built for you, so it isn't returnable once work starts. Write to us before you commission if you're unsure of a loft.
1020 Carbon RAW Wedge
The gamer. Same three lofts as the Damascus and the same bounce in each, in a plain 1020 carbon steel that comes off the face a touch softer, with a look of its own at address.
The head is drop-forged from a solid 1020 carbon billet by a forging partner overseas, built to our drawing and our spec. It arrives in Colorado as bare stock. From there it is ours: hand-stamped with the touchmark, then finish-ground by hand before it ships.
We state that plainly rather than let you assume otherwise. The Damascus is forged start to finish in our own shop. This one is not. What the two share is the geometry you play, the standard they're held to, and the hands that finish them.
This one isn't limited, and it isn't numbered. The Damascus run is capped at one hundred heads a year, each one entered in the ledger and carrying its forge number. The carbon is always available and carries the touchmark alone. Commission it when you need it, play it hard, and commission another when you've worn the grooves out of this one. That is the point of a gamer.
What happens in Colorado
- Design. Profile, sole, bounce, and grooves are drawn here.
- Touchmark. Struck by hand, one head at a time.
- Finish grind. Sole and leading edge trued by hand before it goes out.
About the RAW finish
RAW means bare steel. No plating, no chrome, no clear coat. It will rust. Oxidation starts within the first few rounds and deepens into a patina shaped by your climate, your hands, and your turf. This is intended. A raw face grips the ball, and the finish keeps a record of the rounds you've played. Wipe the face dry after play and oil the head from time to time. That steers the patina rather than stopping it.
